One of the resolutions made at  the time was that an Assembly should be held at two-year intervals with the first such being constituted at Ashfield,Sydney, in March 1994

Since that time the Federation has admitted New Zealand Churches into membership and, at the request of representatives of those Churches, the Biennial Assembly of March 2006, meeting in Sydney, resolved that the New Zealand Churches should now be constituted as the Congregational Federation of Aotearoa New Zealand.

However at an Assembly some years later it was resolved that the word Aotearoa should be deleted so that the title would now read "Congregational Federation of New Zealand."

The Congregational Federation of Australia was constituted by decision of the representatives (below) of the Congregational Federation of New South Wales and the Queensland Congregational Fellowship meeting at Bonny Hills in northern New South Wales from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th September, 1992.
